ℹ️ High Table Dinner is a formal dining event where faculty, guests and students come together to share dinner together. It aims to foster intellectual exchange and discussion among participants, and promotes a sense of community and shared academic experiences within the university. And it upholds a proud tradition at HKU of bringing the academic community together in a formal, ceremonial setting. “High Table” refers to the physical layout, with the head of the college and honoured guests seated at a raised table at the front.
High Table Dinner is an important element in Hall Education. This long-held traditional culture in HKU allows hall-mates to refine their dining etiquette, socializing abilities and personal attire. General rundown includes speeches by the Warden and guests, singing Hall Song, and serving of a three-course dinner.
